Painting: Delaroche, The Execution of Lady Jane Grey
This painting by Paul Delaroche appears to be based in part on the account of the execution from the “Chronicle of Queen Jane and of Two Years of Queen Mary". It is an interesting exercise to get students to compare the two, identify differences and discuss bias, romanticism and generally why they are different.
