Wyndham Sydney Suites, worth a stay

Reasonable hotel level finish

Wyndham Sydney Suites consists of a single tall building towards the centre of the city. It has a range of room sizes: studio, one bedroom and two bedroom. As with all Wyndham or Worldmark resorts, the quality of these units is functional, with the finish of a reasonable quality hotel. As usual, the hotel staff are very friendly and nothing is too hard for them to try and arrange.

Cockatoo Island: a discovery

Cockatoo Island is located in the back part of Sydney harbour, the other side of the bridge to circular quay. It has a long history of use spanning about 180 years. It is currently a museum area that shows off the several different uses during that time. It is well worth a visit and you can spend most of a day exploring. Being on the harbour, it can be quite windy so dress accordingly.

Buchan Caves

The Entrance to Royal Cave. The caves are sealed to maintain the correct climate.

Buchan Caves Reserve consists of a visitor centre, a series of caves and extensive landscaped and natural open spaces. It provides picnicking facilities together with camping. But the jewel of the crown is the caves themselves boasting some of the best formations I have seen in tourist caves.

Visiting Madam Tussauds museum, Sydney


Dame Edna figure

Madame Tussauds is a museum of wax sculpture. Its fame is probably based on the longevity of its existence more than any other feature. The sculptures themselves, of historical and famous people, are so lifelike as to be scary. Today there are Madame Tussauds museums all across the world including in Darling Harbor, Sydney.

Glen Innes lies in the northern part of New England, NSW. Another town founded by Scottish settlers, it offers the charm of a historic country town typical of this part of the Australian countryside mixed with strong Celtic elements.
